Available Courses Our plans for MrCute plus a wish list forum where you can post ideas, suggestions and hopes for enhancements to MrCute. Will also include an area to discuss the moodle.org Repository API plans. This is the MrCute discussion forum and bug report/solution area. This area will be regularly monitored by the development team but we can't always promise an answer so everyone is requested to provide help if they can. This area no longer requires a key, so as long as you have a log on to the site you can enter it now. This is a test area for the MrCute project. For access to this area as a "teacher", please create yourself an account and then email richard@learningobjectivity.com for an enrolment key. This is a "student view" easyPortfolio testing area. To get access, create yourself a new account and then use the enroloment key I issued (or if you've forgotten it, email me for the key: richard@learningobjectivity.com) Don't forget that easyP has been developed by Steve Ball at Solihull College, so all homage to him. Steve's download site is at: http://moodle.solihull.ac.uk/easyportfoliodownload/ EasyPortfolio will also be included with Sticky Moodle 2008 from Kidderminster College's VLE Middleware at http://www.vlemiddleware.com Development Team Area. More specifically, it extends the functionality of the IMS Repository system originally developed by Alton College, UK. MrCute will be compatible with Moodle 1.8.2 upwards but not with earlier 1.8 versions. What is a repositorySimplistically, a repository is a storage area where materials – in this case elearning materials – can be held and from where they can easily be accessed by teachers and learners. IMS (Instructional Management Standards) Global Learning Consortium is an international body which aims to set standards for interoperability between learning systems. The specific standards involved in this case are the IMS Content Packaging Standards. Before MrCuteThe existing Moodle IMS repository system is as follows:
The problemsAlthough this functionality was a useful addition to Moodle, and has been widely adopted in the UK, especially in educational sectors where National Learning Materials are available, there are no easy ways of:
After MrCuteMrCute will address these three issues. It will add:
Why "MrCute"?Acronyms are fun so we wanted a fun acronym! Nevertheless, it has a meaning too: Moodle Repository Create Upload Tag Embed (admittedly the letters are in the wrong order, and the Validate function is missing – but who would ever remember MrEutcv?
