Thank you!

  • This is Learning Objectivity's Moodle hosting area. Organisations and individuals who are new to Moodle can use this area to run one or more courses at minimal or no cost until they are ready to set up their own Moodle site. We can also host your own Moodle test site. Email us for more information.

What is Moodle? Essentially it a web based tool which supports and enhances learning by allowing teachers to manage courses, deliver materials to learners, assess learning and interact with learners. More importantly, it is a place where learners can interact with teachers, and with each other, since Moodle is founded on collaborative learning. Moodle's own thoughts on this can be found at http://docs.moodle.org/en/Philosophy.

Moodle is "open source" software. You can download it, put it on your server, and start to use it. What you contribute (in addition to any donation you decide to make) is your experience and your active participation in the Moodle community.

Until you are ready to run your own Moodle, we can help. Contact us to find out how easy it is to set up a course area here. The first one or two test courses are free, subject to reasonable usage and a three month time limit. We will encourage you to make a direct contribution to Moodle and later, if you like, we can train you and your colleagues in using Moodle in efficient, low-pressure ways that really help your learners. We can also support you as you develop your courses.

Once you've played with Moodle you can move forward to running your own Moodle site or have Moodle hosted and run for you - we'll suggest you work with our colleagues at VLE Middleware, based at Kidderminster College.

This is the Moodle 1.9.3 hosting service of Learning Objectivity. Visit our main website at www.learningobjectivity.com. We work closely with VLE Middleware at Kidderminster College. We also have a Mahara ePortfolio testing area.

Security policies
Since this site is used by more than one organisation, instant messaging (which could give access to email contact details) is disabled throughout all areas. Visibility of email addresses is restricted to teachers, moderators and other administrators - students cannot view email addresses. If teachers and administrators wish to reveal email addresses, this can be done in the "Description" section of the User Profile or in the header text of a specific course area. Students and other learners should not reveal private information to strangers in any circumstances.
All access and activity is recorded in logs and can be traced.
