10th June 2009
The final MrCute 2 release is now available in the Download area.

We have received numerous requests for additional functionality and for MrCute to be made available outside Moodle. If the MrCute team is able to secure the necessary funding we will develop the repository further, including a stand alone MrCute (Multiple Repository Create Upload Tag and Embed), plus implementation of SRW/SRU, Sword and IMS Common Cartridge. We also intend to explore the social nature of the repository by allowing comments and guidance notes on packages, plus download and usage statistics.

Since the project funding has now ended, at least temporarily, we cannot guarantee that forums will be regularly monitored. Bugs may still be reported but please do not expect a fast response. We have added a MrCute 3 forum for your suggestions for additional functionality and developments.

Thanks to everyone for your interest, help and support!

IMS LIA 2009At the Awards Ceremony of the IMS Global Learning Conference in Barcelona on 13th May, MrCute won a Leadership Award for Best in Category. Peter Kilcoyne, Project Director, accepted the award and Richard Goddard and Alastair Hole were also at the ceremony (sorry you couldn't make it too, Helen!). Thanks to everybody who made this honour a possibility and then a fact!
To download MrCute 2 you'll need a user account but no key.

From the Project Manager

I'd like to thank everyone involved in MrCute 2 for their dedication and hard work - especially Al Hole (coding), Helen Brady (research and training) and Pete Kilcoyne (Project Director) plus managers and IT development people at Worcester College of Technology. Thanks are also due to our friends at Jorum, Coleg, Intrallect and the NLN, and to Andy (and Amber) at JISC, plus Rob for suggesting us for the Global Learning Impact Awards. And of course all you good people in the Moodle world who have helped design and test MrCute.
This really is the end of the road for the MrCute team for the time being so thanks again, and (we hope) see you soon!

This is the information and development area for phase 2 of the MrCute project. MrCute is an acronym for Moodle Repository Create Upload Tag Embed, and is intended as an optional Moodle module and block which allow direct and straightforward access to instititutional and other repositories of online learning materials. MrCute 1 was released as a Moodle extension at the end of March 2008. Phase 2 will be released at the end of March 2009 but it is hoped that it will be available for testing some time before that.

MrCute is intended primarily within the United Kingdom and some portions may only function fully in the UK, but is released under an Open Source licence for use anywhere in the world.

MrCute has been funded by JISC and is a project of Worcester College of Technology and Learning Objectivity. We are working in cooperation with Jorum (the UK National FE/HE Learning Materials Repository).

Information on phase 1 of the project can be found at http://www.learningobjectivity.com/ moodle182
